Analog technology Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) platform for European companies and
academic establishments to facilitate prototyping and small volume production. The
EUROPRACTICE IC Service MPW center will be Fraunhofer IIS.
LFoundry’s initial offering will be the LF150 modular 0.15 ?m Low Power and RF CMOS
process, providing up to six levels of Aluminum interconnects, MIM capacitor, polymide
passivation and I/O voltages of 1.8V, 3.3V and 5.0V. All silicon is produced at Foundry’s
state-of-the-art 200mm wafer fab in Landshut, Germany.
The process technologies are supported by design kits based on well-known Cadence and Tanner design environments. LFoundry provides a silicon-qualified set of general purpose I/O cells and digital standard cells, usable for Synopsys, Mentor Graphics or Cadence digital standard flow.
The MPW service runs with an industry leading monthly schedule and is complemented by a range of in-house backend services to facilitate fast time to market for prototyping and small volume production.
LFoundry is qualified to both ISO9001 and ISO/TS 16949 standards.
About Europractice IC Service
Europractice IC Service was set up in 1995 as part of a project by the European Commission to stimulate use of advanced IC technologies by European universities and industry. The Europractice service, run by a consortium of IMEC, STFC and Fraunhofer IIS, offers industry and academia a fully supported, affordable route to IC design, prototyping, and small and medium volume production.
Annually, about 550 designs are prototyped and 100 small volume projects are manufactured at leading IC manufacturers.
