Den Teilnehmern werden in Vorlesungen an der TU Darmstadt und an der Hochschule Darmstadt theoretische Kenntnisse vermittelt, die in speziellen Übungen vertieft werden.
Eine auf die Weiterbildungsteilnehmer abgestimmte praktische Übung zum Thema "Einführung in die Kryptographie" sowie fünf CAST-Workshops runden das Angebot ab. Die Dozenten sind Professoren und wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter der TU Darmstadt und der h_da sowie erfahrene Praktiker aus der Wirtschaft. Die Veranstaltungen finden vom 17. Oktober 2011- 10.Februar 2012 wöchentlich statt.
Nach erfolgreichem Abschluss von acht Prüfungen (in einem Zeitraum von zwei bis vier Semestern) kann das "Zertifikat IT-Sicherheit" an der TU Darmstadt erworben werden. Die Weiterbildung kostet 1.250 Euro pro Semester, für Inhaber des CAST-Leistungspaketes reduziert sich das Entgelt auf 1.000 Euro. Alumni der TU Darmstadt erhalten einen Rabatt von 10%. Ihnen wird wahlweise der Rabatt von 10% eingeräumt oder die CASED-Mitgliedschaft angerechnet.
Eine Anmeldung für das Wintersemester 2011/12 ist bis 30. September 2011 möglich.
