Carling Technologies® J-Series Hydraulic-Magnetic Circuit Breaker Features Ultra-Slim Design with 10,000 Amp Maximum Interrupting Capacity

(PresseBox) (Devon, England, )
Carling Technologies®, a world-class manufacturer of switching, control and circuit protection products, builds on the dependability and high-performance design of its L-Series hydraulic-magnetic circuit breaker to create the smaller and more compact J-Series. With a low-profile and slim depth, as well as a maximum 10,000 amp interrupting capacity, the breaker is ideally suited for high power density applications in small spaces.

Measuring just 54 mm in depth and 57 mm in height, typical applications for the J-Series breaker include multiple uses across the datacom and telecom industries as well as utilization in AC power distribution units or power supplies, power dense motors and controls, or for marine applications requiring higher interrupting capacity. The range and diversity of the breaker can be attributed to several factors.

First, the J-Series breaker can be customized with a variety of actuator styles, including Carling’s Visi-Rocker and Curved Rocker in multiple color selections and combinations. Flexibility is further enhanced through a variety of terminal options on the back of the breaker, making it simple to mount under a broad range of conditions.

Safety is also a prominent feature of the J-Series breaker. In addition to the 10,000-amp maximum interrupting capacity, the interior of the unit features an enhanced arc chamber where arc splitter retainers, combined with integrated pressurizing walls, facilitate cooling through the use of magnetically induced splitter plates. The result is a compact breaker that ensures rapid tripping and cooling to prevent serious equipment damage and fire.

This one- to three- pole hydraulic-magnetic circuit breaker is also available with multiple delays and a maximum current and voltage rating up to 20 amps and 240 volts, respectively. Applicable agency approvals include UL 489, cULus and TUV EN 60947-2 certifications.

With its slim design, multiple actuator styles and safety features, including a maximum 10,000 amp interrupting capacity, the J-Series hydraulic-magnetic circuit breaker by Carling provides dependable performance for multiple applications.
