Since the company was founded in 2005, the Austrian company STW Spleisstechnik West GmbH has been successfully connecting the Alpine region with fiber optic system solutions. Now, the Managing Directors Rainer Mariacher, CEO, and Ing. Dieter Kaltenriner, COO, have decided to integrate the company into the BTV Multimedia Group, a rapidly growing corporate group in the broadband industry. The aim of the merger is to offer STW‘s customers an even larger service portfolio, as well as to efficiently implement fiber optic rollouts of all sizes in cooperation with the new partner companies and a strong financial investor. In accordance with the corporate strategy of BTV Multimedia, STW will continue to act as an independent company on the market.

Joe Doering, CEO of the BTV Multimedia Group, has high hopes for the new partner: “We are delighted to welcome STW Spleisstechnik West as a second strong company from Austria to the BTV Multimedia Group, alongside FIONIS GmbH. It is with deep conviction that by joining forces, we will significantly and sustainably advance fiber optic expansion in Austria and southern Germany.”

“After many successful years, we are taking the next step with STW Spleisstechnik West in order to offer our customers even more comprehensive solutions. For us, joining the BTV Multimedia Group means significant added value in the form of new and efficient product and service solutions, with which we continue to act as an independent partner. With the backing of the group, we will be able to implement further large FTTX projects in the future and offer our outstanding employees opportunities for their next career steps with new development potential,” comments Rainer Mariacher, CEO of STW Spleisstechnik West GmbH, on the merger.

Having two locations in Tyrol and an extensive planning and installation team, STW is flexibly on the move in fiber optic expansion for the entire Alpine region. With sustainable solutions and a focus on fiber-to-the-home, the company places its emphasis on modern installation methods such as splicing, blowing-in and measurement technology, but also active network components. STW thus offers its renowned customers a comprehensive service portfolio from a single source.

BTV Multimedia, a rapidly growing group of medium-sized companies in the broadband industry under the umbrella of DBAG Expansion Capital Fund advised by Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG), bundles the activities of well-known international manufacturers, distributors, and service providers in the broadband communications industry. In addition to STW, these include ANEDiS, braun teleCom, DKT, Fionis, Holm, and Pott. This makes the group one of the few full-service providers on the market. BTV Multimedia is committed to supporting its customers throughout Europe in their broadband expansion course as a reliable and leading partner with the best products and services in the industry.

The implementation of the merger is subject to the approval of the Austrian Federal Competition Authority.

The group-wide FTTH product series WAVEPACE® was well received by the broadband market - products such as the MDU splice patch wall box were successful in establishing themselves as standard components at leading network providers within just a few months. WAVEPACE® was developed with installers and is optimized for fast and compact installations. Furthermore, WAVEPACE®, like the Group's HFC portfolio, backs the network operators' sustainability strategies for climate-neutral network operation.
