Denim Release: BSI CTMS delights with a new look

The biggest update in the history of BSI CTMS promises aesthetics and unrestricted everyday usability – just like your favorite pair of jeans. And therefore carries the promising name “Denim”.

At the SCOPE Summit for Clinical Ops Executives in February 2018 in Orlando and at the Clinical Trial Innovation Summit in May 2018 in Boston, for the first time BSI Business Systems Integration AG presented their latest CTMS release to a broader audience. Just like a favorite pair of jeans, Denim is comfortable and suitable for everyday use while being tough enough to withstand the rigors of every day clinical trial management.

With the biggest update in the 11-year BSI CTMS product history, BSI software engineers have catapulted the standard product BSI CTMS to a new level. The trend-setting interface and the intelligent visualization of data are the most striking changes. Behind the optics, BSI CTMS Denim is packed with new functions that support biotech, pharma and diagnostics sponsors, as well as CRO and site management organizations (SMO) in their daily work for managing clinical trials in a targeted way.

“Denim is a hard-wearing cotton twill fabric, typically blue and used in the textile industry to sew blue jeans. Since our software is as convenient and practical as a favorite pair of jeans, we chose Denim as the name for the latest release of our CTMS solution. Our CTMS customers should be able to easily and conveniently use it to master their daily work” says Jens B. Thuesen, who is involved in business development and also serves as a board member directing the future of the company and the product. “BSI invests 20 percent of its sales in product development. In this latest release, our developers, in close collaboration with a new Fortune 500 CTMS customer, questioned the utility of each function and optimized processes. This has resulted in the best and at the same time the most visually beautiful update in our BSI CTMS history. The Denim release is truly the next generation of CTMS, and we’re proud to bring this kind of innovation to the industry. BSI CTMS Denim offers many new functions that support and meaningfully accompany our customers in their daily work. No matter if you work on clinical studies as trial manager, monitor (CRA), in logistics or in management, Denim is a product that will truly make a difference in clinical trials operations.”

CTMS as the backbone of the eClinical landscape

In order to be prepared for future challenges in the fast digitalization of clinical trials, companies must have a flexible, complete, and easy-to-use CTMS solution as the backbone of their eClinical landscape. BSI CTMS Denim fulfills this requirement by providing a complete suite of modules for clinical trial management including integrated document management (eTMF). As a central system, BSI CTMS Denim enables easy integration with other clinical systems with standard interfaces available to EDC and eTMF. And should the “out of the box” solution require customization, Denim can be either easily configured by the customer or by BSI. In addition, BSI offers cloud hosting or on-premise hosting, a shift is always possible, and there is never vendor lock-in. “Our philosophy is this: we believe that CTMS must be the backbone of all clinical trial management processes. With Denim, the data is easily transferred to CTMS from other systems and made available for reporting and decision making without any time consuming additional effort” explains Jan Nielsen (Community Manager CTMS at BSI). ”We have proven in prior releases that our solution is open and future-proof”, continues Jan Nielsen. “With the modern web-based user interface, we are one step ahead regarding optics and ergonomics. We are sure that the intuitive interface and the intelligent functions in BSI CTMS Denim will make our customers’ daily work easier and more efficient, and is a product that they’ll actually enjoy using.”
