Der anhaltende Trend zu Web-basierten Applikationen sowie der zunehmende Einsatz von Triple-Play-Services wie Voice-, Video-, oder Data-over-IP lässt den Bandbreitenbedarf in Unternehmensrechenzentren auch in Zukunft unvermindert steigen. Aus diesem Grund erweitert Foundry Networks zur CeBIT 2006 seine ServerIron-Familie von Layer 4-7 Applikations- und Web-Optimierungs-Switches um zwei besonders leistungsstarke 10 Gigabit-Ethernet-Modelle. Die Platz sparenden Switches bieten zahlreiche Beschleunigungs- und Security-Features für IP- und Internet-Applikationen. Module zur Hardware-basierten SSL-Beschleunigung können optional integriert werden.
NetIron MLX 10 Gigabit Ethernet Metro Edge Router:
Mit der NetIron MLX-Familie stellt Foundry Networks eine kosteneffektive Lösung für alle Service Provider vor, die MPLS als Standard nutzen, um ihre Layer-2 Dienstleistungen zu erweitern und zu skalieren. Bei einer Switching-Kapazität von 3,84 Terabit pro Sekunde liefert NetIron MLX hoch entwickelte Layer 2-, Routing- und MPLS-Features. Foundry Direct Routing (FDR), die Hardware-basierte Layer-3 Routing Technologie von Foundry Networks, sorgt dabei zusätzlich für Internet Edge Aggregation und Routing (IPv4/IPv6). NetIron MLX wird in 3 Ausführungen angeboten: NetIron MLX-4 mit bis zu 16 10 GbE-Ports, NetIron-MLX-8 (32) und NetIron MLX-16 (64).
