Mithilfe von "Innovative Dynamic Ports on Demand" (DPoD) lässt sich SAN und/oder LAN Konnektivität flexibel bei Bedarf bereitstellen. Server und I/O-Ports sind an den Applikationsbedarf anpassbar. Kunden profitieren zudem von weniger Komponenten und Kabeln und sparen bei Energieverbrauch und Kühlung. Das Switch-Management ist mit IBM Systems Director und IBM BladeCenter Open Fabric Manager (BOFM) integriert.

Das Brocade 8470 Switch-Modul und der Brocade 1007 CNA sind bereits qualifiziert und ab sofort bei IBM erhältlich. Das Preismodell bietet attraktive Konditionen nach dem "Pay-As-You-Grow"-Prinzip.
