ersol Solar Energy AG (ersol) and 3S Swiss Solar Systems AG have signed a contract for the delivery of solar cells until 2017. 3S Swiss Solar Systems AG is a manufacturer of technologically superior facilities for solar module production and also the largest Swiss module manufacturer for solar power systems structurally integrated into buildings. The total volume of this long-term contract amounts to around 60 million euros. This also ensures that ersol stays abreast of developments in the market for high-quality building integration, which has recently seen energetic development. France, Switzerland and Germany are currently the focus for the building integration of solar modules.
“3S Swiss Solar Systems and ersol have been doing regular business together since 2001. This makes it even more pleasing that ersol has now been able to gain 3S Swiss Solar Systems as a long-term customer and partner in a market segment with such promising prospects”, commented Dr. Claus Beneking, CEO of ersol, after the signing of the contract.
Dr. Patrick Hofer-Noser, CEO of 3S Swiss Solar Systems AG, explains the decision for further extending the cooperation with ersol, “ersol’s high-quality, perfectly black BlackPower® cells are especially suitable for demanding building integration projects.” The Swiss company and ersol have been working together over a long period of time, on projects such as high-quality machines for module production. Fruits of this collaboration include an entire semiautomatic production line at Shanghai Electric Solar Energy Co. Ltd. in Shanghai – an ersol joint venture – which has been running successfully since 2005.
ersol will also be supporting 3S Swiss Solar Systems in further developments in the area of module production, using the very latest generations of cells produced by the ersol Group’s high-tech production facilities at Erfurt and Arnstadt.
