When it came to selecting the models for these excursions, the BMW Museum dug deep into its automotive treasure trove. Going all the way back to the 1930s, there is a BMW 326 Cabriolet and a BMW 335 Cabriolet to choose from. The flair of the 1950s, meanwhile, is embodied by a BMW 502 Cabriolet - familiarly known as the "Baroque Angel". Finally, the BMW 3200 CS Cabriolet represents a very rare specimen, with just one unit of this opentop model having been built.
Participants are driven from the BMW Museum past the BMW Tower and on to BMW Welt. The chauffeur then takes them to the nearby BMW home plant, which is not normally open to visitors. Afterwards the route leads to the premises of BMW Classic with its invaluable collection of vehicles, and on down Leopoldstrasse to Odeonsplatz. The tour goes on to trace the ring road around the old centre of Munich, allowing passengers to discover the city's main historic sights from the comfort of a majestic automobile.
Next stop is the flagship BMW showroom on Lenbachplatz. After a welcome and viewing of the exhibits there, the return journey heads along the Olympiapark and back to the starting point: the BMW Museum. The entire excursion takes around three hours. At the end, participants are presented with a gift box containing a personalised certificate of participation, an entry ticket to the Museum and a Museum guide.
The entire package costs 90 euros per person/seat and can be purchased at the BMW Museum information counter. For telephone reservations please call +49 (0)1802 / 118822. For further information and detailed timings please go to www.bmw-museum.com
