BMW Motorrad gewinnt vier Kategorien bei der Leserwahl zum "Motorrad des Jahres 2011" der Zeitschrift MOTORRAD

Mit Siegen in den Kategorien "Tourer", "Sportler", Enduros/Supermotos" sowie "Naked Bikes" und drei weiteren Podiumsplätzen heimste BMW Motorrad bei der 13. Leserwahl der Fachzeitschrift MOTORRAD zum "Motorrad des Jahres 2011" nach 2010 erneut ein außerordentlich gutes Ergebnis ein.

"Ich freue mich, dass unsere Motorräder auch in diesem Jahr erneut so großen Zuspruch bekamen und möchte mich bei den Lesern von MOTORRAD ganz herzlich für ihr Votum bedanken. Besonders freut mich, dass unsere beiden Supertourer - die K 1600 GT und K 1600 GTL - noch vor der offiziellen Markteinführung so viel Begeisterung bei der Leserschaft ernten konnten. Ihr Abschneiden unterstreicht die große Bedeutung von BMW Motorrädern, wenn es darum geht, das Reisen mit dem Motorrad schnell, sicher und komfortabel zu genießen", so Hendrik von Kuenheim, Leiter BMW Motorrad, zu den Wahlergebnissen.

Erstmals mit einem Sechszylinder-Motorrad in der Kategorie "Tourer" vertreten, holte sich die neue BMW K 1600 GT/GTL mit 19,6 Prozent auf Anhieb Platz zwei - nahezu gleichauf mit der erstplatzierten BMW R 1200 RT, für die sich 20,2 Prozent der Leser entschieden. Damit fielen knapp 40 Prozent der Leserstimmen dieser Kategorie auf die großen Tourenmotorräder von BMW.

In der Kategorie "Sportler" platzierte sich die BMW S 1000 RR wie bereits im Vorjahr unangefochten auf Platz eins. 33 Prozent der teilnehmenden MOTORRAD-Leser würdigten damit die herausragende technische Konzeption von Vierzylinder-Performance in Kombination mit Race ABS und Dynamic Traction Control DTC. Komplettiert wurde dieser Erfolg von der BMW HP2 Sport, die auf Platz drei kam.

Erneut bestätigten die BMW R 1200 GS und R 1200 GS Adventure ihre Spitzenposition in der Kategorie "Enduros/Supermotos". Mit 25,5 Prozent entschied sich gut ein Viertel der MOTORRAD-Leserschaft beim Urnengang für die Bestseller des BMW Motorrad Programms und wählte sie wieder auf Platz eins.

Den ersten Platz behauptete BMW Motorrad wie bereits in den beiden Vorjahren auch in der Kategorie "Naked Bikes". Hier überzeugte die neue, fahraktive BMW R 1200 R/Classic die Wähler am meisten.

In der Kategorie "Allrounder" belegte BMW Motorrad den zweiten Rang. Mit hoher Fahrdynamik und Reisetauglichkeit sowie innovativen Technologien, wie etwa dem elektronisch einstellbaren Fahrwerk ESA II (Electronic Suspension Adjustment), begeisterte die BMW K 1300 S hier viele MOTORRAD-Leser . BMW

Die Preisverleihung fand anlässlich der Messe "Motorräder Dortmund 2011" am 3. März 2010 um 18.00 Uhr im Dortmunder Westfalen-Stadion statt. Bei der 13. Auflage der Wahl zum "Motorrad des Jahres 2011", die als die bedeutendste Motorrad- und Roller-Leserwahl in Europa gilt, bewarben sich nicht weniger als 200 Kandidaten in insgesamt acht Kategorien um die begehrten Titel. Seit 1999 haben sich mehr als eine halbe Million Leser an dieser Wahl beteiligt.
