Bitmanagement cooperates with 3Dconnexion for 3D Realtime Rendering

(PresseBox) (Berg, )
.
- Interactive software BS Contact certified for Spacemousetechnology of Logitech subsidery
- Assistance for 3D designers and developers
- Geo information applications get quicker and more precise
- Intuitive navigation for both PC and Laptop
- Bitmanagement now chosen as partner from 3Dconnexion for 3D rendering application

The company 3Dconnexion fully owned subsidiary of Logitech has certified the 3D Software BS Contact for its 3D mouse technology. Therewith Bitmanagement Software GmbH, provider of 3D visualization software, now supports the spacemouse hardware of the Freemont, California, USA based company 3Dconnexion, worldwide the leading producer of 3D computer mouses. These 3D navigation devices called "Spacemouse" are dedicated for CAD/CAM/CAE design engineers, 3D model- and 3D contentcreators, as well as for users of Geodata. "Navigate Your 3D World" is the keyword under which one can find on the 3Dconnexion website Bitmanagement's 3D Viewer BS Contact Geo, especially developed for Geo Data based applications, as a 3D rendering software partner.

Due to its six DOF (degrees of freedom) - unlike the standard computer mouse with two DOF - the control of three dimensional objects can be clearly accelerated as it is not necessary any more to change from the mouse to the key board back and forth for positionning and navigating a 3D object. All advantages of the Spacemouse can be used on PC and Laptops. The support of the Spacemouse technology is integrated in BS Contact and BS Contact Stereo in these navigation modes: Examine, Walk, Fly, Pan, Slide and Game.

The allup navigation is working seamless in six directions by zooming or turning. As the Spacemouse can be used in parallel to the standard mouse any kind of work gets easier for the user. Besides the viewing of the navigated object the user can simultaneously perform separated tasks with his standard computer mouse.

GIS (geo information system) based applications in particular benefit from use of the spacemouse because of its six degrees of freedom and intuitive navigation. Earth viewing applications visualized with the 3D software from Bitmanagement can be taken as an example. The BS Contact Geo 3D software supports in two special modes for terrain navigation: the Geo-Examine- and the Geo-Flymodus for more precise and seamless navigation over virtual terrains.

The Geo-Examine mode offers a 2D like solution, which means the user just needs three degrees of freedom (Turning left/right, onwards/backwards and zooming). A much more demanding solution can be achieved by using the Geo-Fly modus, because five degrees of freedom (cant, rotate, turn right/left, pan onward/backward and zooming) allow to navigate in any user defined directions.

A spacemouse normally offers six degrees of freedom. Additionally to the above mentioned functions the mapping camera can also be rolled around the axis. The different directions are controlled by using the handy cap of the spacemouse. Just simply pushing onwards makes the mapping camera moving ahead. It's starting to fly over a terrain, gaining or loosing hight, when the user pushes or lifts the cap. As another option the angle of view of the user can be modified by a 360° turn around of the camera. Or if just to navigate down to a city the "pilot" needs to push the cap simultaneously onwards and downwards to experience a virtual landing down to earth.
