Mobile Multimedia Forum: the market place for mobile content in Hamburg, Germany

(PresseBox) (Hamburg, )
For the third time, the Bitfilm Festival for digital film and Hamburg’s Independent New Media Commission (HAM) will host the Mobile Multimedia Forum in Germany’s media capital Hamburg. The forum is targeted to producers and buyers of multimedia content for mobile devices. On November 2 and 3, 2006 the Schmidt Theatre on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg’s famous red-light district St. Pauli will turn into a market place for mobile soaps, mobile video and mobile games.

„The mobile has developed from a mere telephone to a multimedia computer with a video camera”, comments Bitfilm director Aaron Koenig. „Film and TV producers have just started discovering this new market for their content. The M3 forum brings together the creative industry and the mobile companies.“

Following the opening key note speeches by Joel Berger (MTV Networks) and Suzie Wang (MediaCorp Singapur), film, TV and game producers will present their projects to the audience and to an expert jury in 20 minutes’ slots. The business separées of the Schmidt Theatre can be used for one-to-one talks and negotiations. The jury:

Ferhan Cook, Mediaplay London
Sandra Baron, Buongiorno
Johanna Winiarski, Vodafone
Hannes Harborth, Three Austria
Mathias Huttmann, T-Mobile
Robert Fahle, RTL Interactive
Ingo Griebl, Burda Wireless
Michael Krause, Arvato Mobile

Projects can be submitted until August 1, 2006 under http://www.bitfilm.com/.... The jury will select the twelve best projects for the pitching sessions.
Set up in 2000, the Bitfilm Festival shows films that use digital technology in a creative and innovative way. Since 2003, it runs a competition for mobile micromovies.
