BitDefender veröffentlicht Removal-Tool für Nyxem.e Neuer Wurm schlägt voraussichtlich am 3. Februar 2006 zu

Die Sicherheitsspezialisten von Softwin haben heute ein Removal-Tool für den Wurm Nyxem.e veröffentlicht, der vermutlich am Freitag, den 3. Februar 2006 das erste Mal aktiv werden wird. Bereits am 16.1. war der Wurm unter dem Namen Win32.Worm.P2P.ABM aufgetreten.

Nyxem.E überschreibt unter anderem Word-, Excel- und pdf-Dokumente sowie Archiv-Dateien und macht die Daten dadurch unbrauchbar. Es wird vermutet, dass der Wurm zukünftig an jedem Dritten eines Monats wieder auftaucht.

„Die Schadroutine von Nyxem.e ist unseren Erkenntnissen nach sehr mächtig und hat viel Zerstörungspotential. Wir können alle Anwender nur eindringlich dazu auffordern, ihren Rechner auf Befall zu überprüfen. Auf unserer Website steht ein Removal-Tool zur Verfügung, mit dem sich der Schädling beseitigen lässt“, erläutert Matthias Ruf, technischer Leiter von Softwin.
