XPOMET® 2017 - Medicine to Marvel

"What starts out as science fiction today may wind up being finished tomorrow as a report." / Norman Mailer

Berlin, (PresseBox) - Medicine is all about translating visions into reality, about evolution and revolution. However, this innovation can only be harnessed if we are fully aware of the present state of medical progress and the opportunities delivered by interdisciplinary technology. What’s needed is a platform for this groundbreaking knowledge – and this is where the XPOMET® Convention steps in.

Unique in the German-speaking market, XPOMET® is the first and only convention to exclusively showcase technological progress in medicine. Focusing on companies which are driving forces in all areas of medical development, it’s intended to deliver a true 360-degree view of the current state of innovation and progress throughout the world of medicine. XPOMET® is aimed at the entire medical sector, including healthcare professionals, decision-makers from medical institutions, medical engineers, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and medical students.

XPOMET® will be held January 17–19, 2017 at Congress Center Leipzig in Germany. This forward-looking convention reflects the realization that future medical advances will rely on innovation and technology. Currently, pioneering findings in medicine are only communicated at highly specialized conferences. Accordingly, knowledge of the immense potential afforded by the great technological advances in medical engineering, computer science and life sciences is compartmentalized and restricted to experts in narrow fields. XPOMET® will break down these barriers by enabling people from different medical backgrounds to explore new technological possibilities.

With variety being an important element of XPOMET®, it will feature several stages and showrooms. Apart from the main congress stage, the other stages will be used by seasoned companies, young start-ups and research groups to introduce their projects, hold panel discussions, and present additional creative activities. Moreover, one stage will be hosted by a media partner.

In order to encourage contact and communication, coffee, snacks and lunch will be served between keynote speeches, project presentations and demonstrations. Opportunities for networking will be maximized by businesses also appearing as exhibitors. Each convention day will be followed by sophisticated evening events held in an informal atmosphere in central Leipzig.

Above all, XPOMET® is intended to be a source of inspiration for all participants. Thanks to its modern format, exhibitors and presenters will be able to harness this platform as effectively as possible. For example, exhibitors are free to design their booths and stage presentations as they see fit.

An award pitch has been set up for all exhibiting and presenting startups, and we have already provided the first €5,000 of prizemoney. To create additional value for young, innovative companies, we are offering special prices and discounts, individual participation packages and ideal positioning.

Medicine ‘on the edge’

The XPOMET® Convention aims to present medical progress ‘on the edge’. Several international experts have already confirmed their keynotes for the congress. Visitors can look forward to Dr. Shafi Ahmed, who is revolutionizing medical training via virtual reality, Paul Sonnier, who will talk about the possibilities of digital health, artificial intelligence specialist Prof. Jürgen Schmidhuber, Prof. Erwin Kneeve speaking about hybrid surgery, Prof. Thomas Stieglitz, who will report on smart transplants, and many more. On the last day, XPOMET® will be open to the general public.
