BioID Expands its Presence in US
New subsidiary to focus on strategic partnerships and IAM market
The company will be responsible for business development, partner integration and technical support for myBioID, an online authentication and identity management service, as well as future products and services for the North American market.
The myBioID service offers the easiest and most secure way for users to log into online accounts, authorize transactions and manage their online identities without remembering dozens of passwords or carrying a token. By recognizing the user’s presence with a webcam, myBioID helps reduce the chances of online identity theft and data theft without software installation or special hardware.
“With the world’s highest percentage of internet users and growing concerns over privacy and identity theft, North America is a mature technology market in desperate need of an easier, more secure way to manage online identities,” said Ho Chang, CEO of BioID AG. “Some of the most important players in the identity and online services fields, representing key potential partnerships for myBioID, are located in North America, and a local presence helps us deliver our partners the best possible support.”
BioID is guided by the vision that personal recognition services will replace traditional username/ password-based authentication to greatly enhance the convenience, user experience and security of internet and mobile users and help protect them from identity theft and data theft. BioID’s services recognize a person reliably by their face, iris and/or voice. The company’s technology has been proven through many years of use at enterprises, banks and government organizations, and can be integrated flexibly into existing IT and communication environments.
Privately held, BioID is headquartered in Switzerland with offices in Germany and the US. For more information, please see www.bioid.com.
