Fanless medical power supplies for reliable 24/7 continuous operation

The power supply specialist Bicker Elektronik for Germany presents two medical power supplies of the BEO series: the BEO-2000MC (200 Watt fanless, with chassis) and the BEO-2000M (180 Watt fanless, without chassis). Both variants were designed for space-saving use in compact fanless medical devices and medical grade computer systems. The energy-saving circuit design is characterized by a high degree of efficiency of up to 93.5% and an idle power of less than 0.3 Watt. The robust, high-quality power supply units are designed for 24/7 continuous operation and work reliably in a particularly wide temperature range from -20 °C to +80 °C. With the BEO-2000MC or BEO-2000M, applications in protection class I as well as protection class II (without grounding) can be implemented. The power supply units are therefore suitable for a wide range of demanding applications in medical technology and in the home care sector: Medical Ventilators, blood dialysis systems, medical chairs, sterilization devices, hospital beds, operating tables, X-ray machines, mammography, monitoring, Embedded Box PCs, panel systems and many more.

For international use, the AC/DC switching power supplies have a wide-range input (90 to 264 VAC at 47 to 63 Hz) with active PFC (power factor correction). No base load is required at the precisely regulated DC single output (+12, +24 or +48 V. An additional +12V fan output is also available. Both power supplies have international medical safety approvals: IEC 60601-1:2005+A1:2012 (Edition 3.1), EN 60601-1:2006+A1:2013 (Edition 3.1), ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1:2005 (3rd Edition). The BEO medical power supply units with a high isolation voltage of 6196 VDC between input and output meet the 2xMOPP safety standard for patient contact (Means Of Patient Protection).

The exclusive use of high-quality components, such as Japanese branded electrolytic capacitors (long-life, +105 °C), as well as the well-engineered PSU design ensure long-term reliability and safety. In addition, the power supply units have short-circuit and overtemperature protection with automatic restart (auto recovery) and overvoltage protection with shutdown as standard. The 3-pin AC input cable CB-106-3-600 or the 2-pin AC input cable X1-054 are available as optional accessories for the input-side mains connection - each made of AWG18 with a length of 600 mm and open ends. The medical power supply units BEO-2000MC and BEO-2000M are long-term available for at least 5 years. The company Bicker Elektronik also offers a three-year device guarantee.
