CNC cylindrical grinder by Fermat Machine Tool, automated by B&R

High-precision, flexibility and intuitive operation coming to EMO 2013

(PresseBox) (Eggelsberg, )
Upgrading to B&R's integrated HMI, CNC and servo technology and high-performance POWERLINK communication has given Fermat Machine Tool developers the freedom and power to fully utilize their hard-earned grinding expertise. In September, Fermat Machine Tool, s.r.o. will be presenting its new CNC cylindrical grinder at the world's leading metalworking exhibition, EMO 2013 in Hanover, Germany.

Intuitive, flexible and low-maintenance

"The open CNC control allowed us to implement our own processing cycles, supported by graphical visualizations. As a result, the operator doesn't need any knowledge of CNC programming," says Ondřej Zoubek, R&D director at Fermat Machine Tool. "The B&R control system allows us to offer our customers a flexible and reliable grinder with maximum performance and minimum maintenance effort."

High precision and smooth migration

Fermat Machine Tool, s.r.o. has been able to achieve extremely high surface grinding precision - up to 1 µm. Such high quality results were made possible by ACOPOSmulti motion control with an external linear measurement system from Heidenhain. An open NC program interpreter provided extremely smooth migration from the previous system.

The BUB E 40/1000 CNC grinder is designed for high-precision universal grinding, both axial and surface grinding, with a fixed or oscillating table. The machine is suitable for production of work pieces in small or medium batch sizes.
