GMIS Web-Portal, entwickelt mit advangeo® Software-Produkten, geht online

Der Geologische Dienst von Tansania (Geological Survey of Tanzania, GST) und Beak Consultants GmbH geben die Eröffnung des Webportals GMIS-online ("Geological and Mineral Information System") bekannt. Entwickelt auf Basis von advangeo® Software-Produkten, bietet GMIS-online der Öffentlichkeit Zugang zu wichtigen geologischen und mineralischen Informationen, wie geologischen Karten, der Mineralvorkommen-Datenbank sowie den Metadaten des Archivs und der Bibliothek.
Das neue Informationssystem wird als Teil des Unterstützungs-Projektes des Ministeriums für Energie und Rohstoffe (Ministry of Energy and Minerals of Tanzania, MEM) für den Bergbau-Sektor von Tansania ins Leben gerufen, um Investitionen in den Bergbau in Tansania zu verstärken und um die wirtschaftliche und soziale Entwicklung des Landes zu unterstützen.
GMIS-online wird weiter ausgebaut und verbessert werden, sowohl im Hinblick auf die verfügbaren Daten als auch die technischen Möglichkeiten.
