8th Developer Forum Battery Technologies of batteryuniversity.eu provides a three-day insight into the battery world of the future

From March 24 to 26, 2015 in the Stadthalle Aschaffenburg, Germany

(PresseBox) (Karlstein, )
At the 8th Developer Forum Battery Technologies, participants will receive information about the latest developments and trends regarding cell selection, battery packaging and safety, charging technologies, power management, standardization, electromobility and stationary energy storage systems. The Developer Forum is organized by the batteryuniversity.eu and takes place from March 24 to 26, 2015 in the Stadthalle Aschaffenburg, Germany. More than 550 international participants are expected to attend this year's three-day Developer Forum with around 50 high-caliber speakers from research and industry and the accompanying exhibition.

Due to the overwhelming response of previous years and ongoing high demand, the three-day Developer Forum again begins on March 24 with two half-day basic training seminars on the topics of "Battery Management Systems" and "Lithium-ion Battery Technologies" offered both in German- and English-language. "The use of lithium-ion batteries is steadily increasing in all areas of daily life. It is, therefore, important for system developers from all kinds of different fields not only to become familiar with the basics of this technology, but also to keep up-to-date with the latest developments. Many of our now well over one thousand training participants use the training seminars of batteryuniversity.eu not only as an introduction to the topic, but also to regularly gain a quick and comprehensive overview of the latest materials, technologies, standards, regulations, etc.," said Dr. Jochen Mähliß, director of batteryuniversity.eu.

The huge momentum of the battery sector is again reflected in the range of topics of the Expert Forums on March 25 and 26. Participants will be provided with information about, for example, lithium ion cells specifically for power tools and energy storage, selection criteria for cells, scalable battery management systems, charging devices, standard requirements and fire tests.

This year, in addition to Sven Bauer, the founder of BMZ, amongst others, Dr. Reiner Korthauer from the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI), Dr. Ina Hahndorf from Younicos AG as well as Professor Stefano Passerini from Helmholtz-Institut Ulm (HIU) have been engaged as key speakers. In their presentations, they will deal with developments on the world market, challenges in the energy transition (German: Energiewende) and the next generation of lithium-ion batteries.

All German-language expert presentations at this renowned Developer Forum will be simultaneously translated into English in order to allow participation of non-German speaking persons. Furthermore, on March 26, a half-day energy storage workshop will take place for the first time in parallel to the Developer Forum. During this session, participants will become acquainted with the structure and the operation of modularly constructed energy storage systems.

In order to enable participants to get comprehensive information in direct dialogue with experts of leading manufacturers and institutions during the breaks, the Developer Forum is once again accompanied by an exhibition. The exhibition, where around 40 companies in an area of approximately 2,000 m2 will present their products, solutions and services, is open on March 25 and 26 from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.

The participation charge per person for the three-day Developer Forum Battery Technologies - including free admission to the exhibition, breakfast, lunch and coffee buffets, after-show snack and all forum documentation - is 825 euros plus 19% MwSt. (German Value Added Tax). The charge per person for two-day participation is 650 euros plus 19% MwSt. and for one-day participation the charge is 350 euros plus 19% MwSt. There is an early-bird discount of 10 percent for registrations received before January 31, 2015.
