What automotive colors are hip in Asia?

New issue of BASF’s Coatings Partner magazine

(PresseBox) (Münster, )
The automotive market in Asia is recording the world s highest growth rates. BASF Coatings is facing the new challenges there and has boosted its activities in the region considerably. Examples include the launch of new training centers in China, as well as expanded production and application engineering capacities in India. The new issue of BASF s Coatings Partner magazine again spotlights Asia.

The 44 pages of the new issue include reports on the new BASF Automotive Center in Shanghai, as well as on the "Science Express", a train that was coated with Glasurit® brand paints for its trip through India. On board the train is a one-of-a-kind science exhibition put together by the German Max Planck Society. Partners for the project are BASF, the Indian government and the Indian Department of Science and Technology.

Color trends of the future

The choice of color for one s car is an expression of individual lifestyle. How do these color trends shape up in Asia? Matsuhara Chiharu, BASF s color designer in Japan, explains the color trends of the future for the Japanese, Indian and Chinese automotive industries. Supplementing the interview is a brief analysis of the Korean market.

In addition, the new issue of Coatings Partner presents numerous examples that illustrate how BASF Coatings makes its customers even more successful - for instance, with the development of paints with a "warm touch" for finish foils, which are an interesting alternative to laminate, as well as the introduction of an energy-saving wet-on-wet application process at Ford in the United States.

Colorful outfits

The new R-M® CARIZZMA colors are a special treat for tuning fans. BASF Coatings is now using these spectacular new colorful automotive outfits to enter the world of car tuning in Europe.

The Pink Lady container ship has also been decked out in particularly eye-catching colors. The experts at RELIUS, which belongs to BASF s Coatings Division, provided the ship with its hot pink finish. Whether for the automotive, shipping, aerospace or construction industry, paints produced by BASF Coatings are present in all kinds of areas of life. However, before they re put to use, they must pass a number of stringent tests. In the new issue of Coatings Partner, readers can learn more about how BASF Coatings Analytical Services team accompanies paints throughout their entire lifespan.

The magazine targets customers, business partners and the interested public. Copies in German and English can be ordered or downloaded at www.basf-coatings.com.
