New industrial topcoats offer loads of assets

Salcomix, BASF Coatings AG s industrial paint brand, is now offering its first high-solids topcoat system: 698 and 699 TPC-HS. The new system offers two big assets: The HS topcoats can be applied easily and economically and at the same time, offer a high degree of UV, gloss and color stability. The high-gloss 698 2K Acrylic Topcoat, like its semi-glossy sibling 699 Topcoat is available in neutral or full white. The HS topcoats can be used with any spray equipment available on the market, can be applied quickly and safely and compared to MS topcoats, require 20 to 30 percent less material. Both topcoats dry well and offer excellent hiding power and a high spreading rate. The high-solids paints are easy to polish, too. And correcting surface defects, such as dust inclusions is quick and easy. The semi-glossy 699 Topcoat can be used for both smooth and textured surface finishing results as desired. Depending on the spraying technique, various textured surface effects can be achieved. That s ideal for making decorative effects or for smoothing out rough areas on the substrate.
