Axiros to Provide Complete TR-069 and Legacy Device Management Solution to Vodafone Iceland

(PresseBox) (Munich, Germany, )
Axiros, the technology leader in advanced Service and Device Management, announced today that Vodafone Iceland has selected Axiros to manage and monitor its customer premise equipment (CPE).

Vodafone Iceland is the second largest mobile operator and the largest wireline operator in Iceland, operating xDSL and FTTx networks. It selected Axiros based on Axiros’ ability to deliver a significant return on investment (ROI) as well as its capacity to work seamlessly with both TR-069 and legacy, or non TR-069, equipment. Specifically, Vodafone will deploy the following Axiros products:

- AXESS.ACS – for the management of home devices and triple play services;
- AXTRACT – for the continuous monitoring of QoE; and
- AXPLORE – for the alarm management function.

Axiros’ turnkey solution includes the delivery of the Customer Care application and integration with OSS/BSS systems. The implementation will enable Vodafone Iceland to significantly enhance the customer experience by reducing support wait times. It is also key to Vodafone’s customer acquisition strategy and new service deployment.

Vodafone Iceland’s
 head of business support systems Fannar Örn Þorbjörnsson says his company considered many solutions providers before ultimately choosing Axiros. “Axiros provides significant ROI,” he says. “Even more than that, their open architecture means we can move forward with the equipment we already have in place. This will save us significant time and money.”

Axiros is unique in the marketplace in that its products are built on an open platform meaning they work with any device, no matter the protocol. Additionally, Axiros’ single framework design enables close to linear scalability while securing very short implementation periods. For Vodafone Iceland, Axiros will deploy the complete solution within the company’s requested six-month window.

Axiros CEO Kurt Peterhans says the relationship with Vodafone is a good fit. “The Vodafone Iceland project allows us to showcase how flexible and versatile our products truly are,” he says. “We’re excited to provide a seamless customer experience across Vodafone’s TR-069 and legacy equipment.”

By partnering with Axiros, Vodafone Iceland joins other operating companies within the larger Vodafone Group already using Axiros products such as Vodafone Italy and Vodafone NL.

Vodafone anticipates the project to be complete by October or November of this year.
