Android users are constantly exposed to dangers online, even when they are only surfing the web on regular websites or installing apps from secure sources. This is because every so often, apps containing malware make it into Google’s Play Store, or an app gets replaced by an infected one through an update. These dangers can be mitigated to a great extent by simply using a good security app for Android. These apps also provide additional protection from spam and phishing attempts as well as offer further security features. The new endurance test showcases the security apps that have provided the best protection over the course of 6 months.
There are still users out there who don’t see the need to install a protection package on their Android device, in the expectation that Google’s standard package, Play Protect, is sufficient. However, this belief is misguided for two reasons. For one, it is possible for apps on the Google Play Store to be infected, and then downloaded to millions of devices.
