100 additional jobs for university graduates / Audi to employ a total of 450 academics in 2007

Particularly high demand for engineers / Individual entry opportunities / 16 – 20 April 2007: Job & Career Market at Hanover Fair

(PresseBox) (Ingolstadt, )
AUDI AG will employ 450 academics this year, 100 more than was originally planned for 2007. “We want to be the most successful premium automotive manufacturer in the world by 2015. To achieve this goal, we need highly motivated, dedicated and well-trained employees,” commented Dr. Werner Widuckel, Board Member for Human Resources at AUDI AG.

Over half of the new employees will be employed in Technical Development. Engineers specialising in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering and communications engineering are particularly in demand. However, there are also good prospects for computer scientists and business graduates, particularly in sales and retail.

“If you want to build the car of tomorrow, you won’t get anywhere by using the structures of yesterday. We offer newcomers to the profession individual entry opportunities with attractive tasks, challenges and development prospects,” stated Widuckel. In addition to direct entry and the international trainee programme, college graduates have the opportunity to gain practical experience in the First Job Experience programme at Audi. It offers the opportunity of becoming closely acquainted with the working methods and ways of thinking of different areas of AUDI AG within a period of 48 months, with the goal of deepening specialist knowledge of the process chain.” The development programme for academics is a new entry option in which AUDI AG is offering 30 places for graduates and young professionals.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the wide range of opportunities at AUDI AG can do so at the Job and Career Market (Hall 2, stand D46-27) at Hanover Fair from 16 to 20 April 2007 and via our homepage at www.audi.de/karriere.

Overview of opportunities for college graduates:

First Job Experience programme

Audi offers college graduates who have achieved good grades in their studies but have not yet had the time or opportunity to gain hands-on experience the chance to gain professional experience and an additional qualification during a six-month placement with appropriate remuneration.

International trainee programme

During a twelve-month training programme, trainees get to know the key interfaces within and outside AUDI AG through various projects. They work independently on three to four projects in a range of different project areas during the 12 months. One of these projects is in their target field and at least one of the others is at one of the Volkswagen Group’s international locations.

China trainee programme

The China trainee programme is an 18-month training programme for college graduates of all disciplines and provides them with a comprehensive insight into the structures and processes of AUDI AG. From the beginning, trainees work independently on projects in areas relating to China. Two of the projects thus take place at international Audi locations in China.

Direct entry

Direct entrants immediately take on projects in their planned area of responsibility. Working with a mentor in their specialist area, they draw up an individual induction plan that introduces them to the key contacts within the company.

Development programme for academics

The development programme for college graduates and young professionals is aimed at engineers and economists. During the tailor-made programme, participants first spend one to two years working in their target field. They are then employed in interface roles for another two years, to deepen their knowledge of the process chain. After approx. 48 months, they have become experts with interdisciplinary knowledge and can take on responsibilities in their target field. On-the-job and off-the-job tailor-made training measures accompany this programme.
