Proxmox performance boost and EFI disk support
With orcharhino 7.7, the Proxmox plugin receives comprehensive improvements. Administrators can now create EFI disks for KVM-UEFI guests and benefit from optimized handling of Proxmox HA resources.In addition, data retrieval from Proxmox clusters has been significantly accelerated. Internal tests show a reduction in loading times of up to 80%, depending on the size and performance of the environment. This noticeably improves the user experience, especially in larger virtualization environments.
Support for Ubuntu ESM Apps Errata
With version 7.7, orcharhino extends security coverage to Ubuntu ESM Apps repositories. This gives administrators transparency about security updates for applications maintained under the Ubuntu Expanded Security Maintenance (ESM) program.Use of these repositories requires a valid Ubuntu Pro subscription.
SLES 16 Provisioning: Extended Template Support with Agama
Building on the new Agama installer, template support for SLES 16 has been further expanded. The goal is simplified and automated provisioning, even in complex enterprise environments.New features include:
- Static network configuration for environments without DHCP services
- Automated setup of OpenVox/Puppet agents
- Automated configuration of Salt minions
Patch management for image mode hosts (bootc)
Image Mode Hosts are based on bootc (bootable containers), where the entire operating system is managed as an OCI container image. This immutable infrastructure approach ensures consistency, stability, and transactional updates with integrated rollback functionality.Orcharhino 7.7 extends support for bootc-based systems. In addition to host registration, remote execution jobs are now available to:
- prepare for the switch to new container images (staging),
- update existing images,
- rollback to earlier images if necessary.
- short-term bug fixes
- Test scenarios
- the installation of urgent errata
