The annual Greenpeace Electronic Survey assesses electronic products across four categories: chemical use, energy use, product lifespan and other notable features. The VW247-HF LCD monitor scored highly in each category with a total score of 7.5 (out of 10), putting it ahead of all survey participants. The ASUS UL30 notebook also made the list as one of the greenest consumer notebooks available.
ASUS is committed to the sustainability of our environment and consistently raises the bar for greener standards for the industry. After receiving the world' first Carbon Foot Print Certificate for notebooks last year, ASUS continues to strive for higher achievement in the area of carbon reduction. Just recently, the ASUS eco-conscious U53JC Bamboo notebook received the world's second Carbon Foot Print certification* for notebooks.
ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih is proud of the company's green achievements stating, "As a technology leader in the new digital era, it is our responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint and monitor the entire life-cycle of our products. Aside from incorporating ASUS proprietary energy-saving technologies such as the Super Hybrid Engine on notebooks and true Digital VRM designs on motherboards, ASUS has worked vigorously to research and develop greener design, procurement, manufacturing and marketing. I am proud that we are the first company to bring halogen-free motherboards and monitors to the market. It is just the beginning of Green ASUS. Consumers can anticipate even more innovative green products from us in the near future."
ASUS is also a frequent winner of EPEAT Gold, EU Flower and Energy Star Saving certifications. For more detail on ASUS' green effort visit: http://csr.asus.com
