ASK Chemicals – sustainability as a challenge for the foundry industry

ASK Chemicals takes a bow at GIFA 2011

(PresseBox) (Hilden, )
Energy and material efficiency, sustainable production processes and environmentally friendly technologies are among the strategic challenges facing the foundry industry. Reducing or avoiding emissions are essential tasks on the way to sustainable casting technology.

As an innovative partner and complete global supplier for the foundry industry, ASK Chemicals has taken the responsibility to support these processes with efficient new product lines and solutions. This includes new developments and additions to the product portfolio such as the INOTEC® inorganic binder system, which has already proven its suitability for series production at BMW, for example. The use of highly efficient cold box binder systems also helps to reduce emissions significantly through a reduction in the use of binders. Such products are essential, especially for high-technology customers which, as manufacturers, must also present their sustainability credentials. Alongside the enormous reduction in pollutants and a significant improvement in the quality of castings, these product developments make an essential contribution to improving manufacturers’ productivity by means of reduced costs for maintenance and emissions provisions.

ASK Chemicals as a company also sees considerable potential for growth in the whole area of clean technologies. The company, established at the end of 2010 as a joint venture derived from the foundry activities of Ashland Inc., USA, and Süd Chemie AG, Germany, can draw upon years of experience and the ever-growing expertise of its employees when it comes to developing these sustainable technologies.

As a globally positioned company with research and development on three continents, the intensive harmonization of scientific theory and practice gives rise to new products and applications which are as innovative as they are efficient and set new technological standards.

Increasing efficiency while simultaneously reducing emissions and conserving resources – with this expertise, ASK Chemicals is on its customers' side when it comes to expanding in the growth markets and emerging economies. All this enables the company to fulfill its obligations to society as a whole.

ASK Chemicals will be represented with its skilled contacts from the global locations at GIFA Hall 12, Booth 24A. Experts will be on hand with presentations to discuss problems which are currently affecting the foundry industry.

You can arrange appointments and find further information about the trade fair on www.ask-chemicals.com.
