- Arvato Systems integrates shipcloud technology
- platbricks, a new logistics solution, closes digitalization gaps
There are still numerous digitalization gaps in the logistics processes of many companies. These range from desktop computers in goods receipt to a lack of storage space management in production, right through to paper-based picking and replenishment processes. Likewise, the handling of external logistics processes with partners and clients also offers a lot of potential for change.
For this purpose, Arvato Systems has developed platbricks – the Arvato Smart Logistics Platform, a digital modular system that can be used to orchestrate departmental and company-wide logistics processes. Bernd Jaschinski-Schürmann, Head of Supply Chain Consulting at Arvato Systems, lists the advantages of platbricks as follows: “The platbricks Warehouse Management System (WMS) enables our clients from retail business and industry as well as logistics service providers to have a complete and seamlessly integrated digitalization of their logistics processes. This includes a shipping module that generates the necessary labels for all relevant KEP service providers and trucking companies, carries out shipment registration, and offers precise tracking and tracing. And everything is, of course, in the cloud and easy to integrate.”
This is where shipcloud comes into play. The technology is easy to integrate thanks to the open interface concept – one of the reasons why Arvato Systems opted for shipcloud, much to the delight of shipcloud founder and managing director Claus Fahlbusch: “Once again, the advantage of our easy integration, which has already been proven in many technology cooperative relationships with players in the field of digital logistics, is evident here: No matter how extensive the logistical volume of the respective user is, they can use our technology for reliable, transparent, and above all cost-efficient processing – which is attributed to the integration of all major shipping service providers both in Germany and abroad. In this regard, cooperation with a globally active partner like Arvato Systems is naturally an important step in our own business development,” explains Fahlbusch.
And Bernd Jaschinski-Schürmann adds: “We have found a partner in shipcloud – one that provides all the functions for a shipping system that an innovative logistics system needs. It fits very well into our portfolio.”
About shipcloud
shipcloud GmbH was founded by Stefan Hollmann and Claus Fahlbusch as a shipping service provider in May 2013. The company has developed a cloud-based service for the shipping of packages tailored to the needs of online retailers. The leading store, CRM, ERP, or inventory management system is connected to all major parcel delivery service providers thanks to an intuitive and easily integrated uniform interface (RESTful API). This technical solution, which is unique in Germany, both enables the automated printing of shipping labels and includes multi-carrier tracking, with which the online retailer can seamlessly track the status of the shipment. In addition, there is access to attractive shipping conditions, because the online retailer can access the proposals of all connected parcel delivery service providers independent of the contract. For its innovative technology, the company was awarded the Gründergeist award by the Hamburg Wirtschaftsjunioren, the bevh Rising Star award, the Vision Award, the Innovationspreis-IT by the Initiative Mittelstand, the Deutscher Kunden-Innovationspreis, the German.Venture.Award, and the Deutscher Exzellenz-Preis. shipcloud.io
