- BATON QC is the latest addition to the cloud-based media services platform VidiNet
- Automated quality control (QC) solution from Interra Systems rounds out broadcast workflows for VidiNet users
- Enhancement offers better video quality through machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Billing per minute of content processed provides cost transparency
From creation to production to monetization of content: VidiNet covers extensive tasks and requirements of the media supply chain and offers users a range of services and apps in a pre-integrated environment as SaaS solutions. Thus, the platform not only supports various media workflows, but also allows any scaling options for professional use.
VidiNet has been expanded again and now offers the possibility to access all functions of the BATON QC system from Interra Systems as a cloud service. Another advantage: a so-called 'elastic scaling' enables unlimited QC processes running simultaneously. The quality control solution supports a wide range of media formats and offers a combination of automated and manual quality checks, such as comprehensive subtitle and closed caption checking, audio speech identification or loudness detection and correction. This ensures a well-integrated and efficient broadcast workflow.
BATON is already used worldwide in areas that work professionally with video - from broadcast to telecommunications, from post-production to archiving file-based content. It is an ideal complement for VidiNet users who want to grow out of their on-premise systems and/or move their workflows completely to the cloud.
All BATON QC Checker capabilities are available within VidiNet. The base fee is charged per content minute, providing clear visibility into costs for users, with Flash/PSE, Dolby AC3/E, HDR, and DRM incurring an additional fee per content minute. Results of the QC analysis are then visualized on the VidiNet timeline.
“We are delighted to add BATON QC as an option for VidiNet users,” comments Stefan Eckardt, Head of Platform Success within the Vidispine team at Arvato Systems. “Cloud-based QC is an important growth area in the industry, and this partnership is a win-win for both companies. It offers VidiNet users access to a powerful and reliable ML and AI-enabled automated QC platform, while VidiNet in turn allows BATON QC users to scale their service rapidly up to almost any level.”
“We are delighted to be partnering with the Vidispine team and helping round out their end-to-end broadcast ecosystem,” says Penny Westlake, Director Europe, Interra Systems. “As more companies move their workflows wholly or in part to the cloud, QC is one of the vital elements where cloud-based solutions offer distinct advantages in terms of scale and flexibility to the overall process.”
