arvato Systems wins major contract with Trans-mission System Operator TenneT

IT for the energy market: Prolongation and expansion of a successful partnership

Gütersloh / Leipzig, (PresseBox) - arvato Systems has, as winner of an EU-wide invitation to tender, renewed its contract with the Transmission System Operator (TSO) TenneT. The recently signed contract includes, in addition to Datacenter Services and Network Operations, further services such as User Help Desk and Workplace. The establishment and further development of Shared Services for TenneT in the Netherlands and Germany as well as a strategic partnership for IT and further digitization also play a central role.

TenneT is one of the leading TSO in Europe, operating in the Netherlands and Germany, and reliably supplies circa 41 million end-users around the clock from around 22,000 kilometers of high-voltage power lines.

The central and decentral IT Services provided by arvato Systems are related to almost all areas of TenneT’s IT infrastructure in the Netherlands and Germany, thus providing an essential element for the support of the organization’s corporate strategy. The successful partnership during the last five years is therefore not just prolonged, but significantly expanded.

„We’ve gotten to know arvato Systems during our relationship in the last five years as a very reliable partner, with extensive knowledge of our business sector” says Bas Wismans, Senior IT Manager at TenneT. “The agreed extension of our long-term partnership is a great basis to ensure sustainable, cross-border and high-quality Shared IT.”

The new contract has a duration of 4,5 years plus two options for extension of each two years.

„We are delighted that we were able to convince TenneT with the offer we submitted for the Netherlands and Germany as part of the Initiation to Tender” says Matthias Moeller, CEO of the arvato Systems Group. “It’s not just a recognition of our competence in the Utilities market and our support for the advance of digitization, it’s a terrific confirmation of trust and of course a big motivation for a continued, successful and lasting partnership.”
