AREVA's Transmission and Distribution (T&D) division will inaugurate eight factories on three sites in Vadodara, 350,000 sqm (State of Gujarat), Hosur, 90,000 sqm, and Padappai, 21,400 sqm (State of Tamil Naidu) this week. Driven by the Indian market's growing demands for more electrical equipment and services, this marks the successful close of nearly €150 million investment.
With the expected demand for electricity, under the Government's 11th and 12th five year plans an additional 161 GW of new power generation will be added by 2020 and significant investments made in the electrical grid.
