The German electronics industry features players in automotive, industrial, aerospace, defense, medical, control and instrumentation, high-end telecommunications and other areas. Supporting these with value-added services such as EMS is considered as a core competency and requirement for success within the German market. Flexibility in manufacture, supply and service, and the ability of the EMS provider to respond to changes in expected demand is key to maximising the OEM's profitability. This is equally true whether the change is to increase production in response to better market performance, or to cut back because of lower sales.
