Vast amounts of data are being generated by billions of intelligent devices connecting to all parts of the network, including every business and household. As sensors and devices become more connected and context aware they are enabling increased productivity and efficiency, whilst also improving safety and user experience. Harnessing this data requires a framework designed to facilitate connectivity, management, and the security of devices in a consistent and scalable manner. Advantech is addressing these needs through products designed with such a framework in mind: the Intel® Intelligent Systems Framework.
“To capitalize on the true potential of the Internet of Things (IOT), Advantech is committed to developing platforms based on Intel® technology at every point in the network. Our product divisions design data acquisition devices and controllers which are deployed across multiple industries capturing vital information. In turn they feed data to edge gateways built on Advantech hardware and into the cloud where we supply networking platforms based on Intel® architecture to communications equipment providers. The products we are announcing today are all catalysts in the conversion process of massive volumes of data from many different sources into value-added information”. said Franz Wei, Vice President of Embedded System Group.
“The new Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1200 v3 series and 4th generation Intel® Core™ processor family deliver the performance, graphics capabilities, security and power efficiency required in demanding embedded devices today, including digital signage, medical imaging, digital security and surveillance, telecommunications infrastructure, industrial automation, and more,” says Sam Cravatta, product line manager, Intel Intelligent Systems Group. “Companies like Advantech can harness the advances in the new Intel microarchitecture to help customers bring compelling solutions to market.”

4th Gen Intel® Core™ Technology Advances Intelligent System Solutions
Employing 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7/i5 processors and the Intel® Q87 chipset, Advantech has developed a series of industrial-grade embedded boards in a range of form factors: PICMG 1.3 SBC, ATX, MicroATX, and Mini-ITX; these are the PCE-5128, AIMB-784, AIMB-584, and AIMB-274. Moreover, based on the 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7 processor and mobile Intel® QM87 Express chipset, Advantech is also launching the COM Express basic module SOM-5894, CompactPCI board MIC-3396, and VPX board MIC-6311 to provide a significant performance improvement in floating-point-intensive computations, smooth flash playback and rich 2D/3D graphics, and support for three independent symmetrical displays.
Advantech has also successfully implemented Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1200 V3 and Intel® C226 chipsets into its new server-grade motherboards ASMB-584 and ASMB-784 in order to meet higher computing application markets, and also support server-grade, remote control solutions. With the IPMI-1000 (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) extension module, they provide out-of-band remote management, real-time and centralized management, KVM over IP remote control, all with user-friendly UI and utilities.
These new embedded boards and modules come with multi-OS and software support, such as SUSIAccess and iMaganger, and all of them will be available from Q2 to Q3, 2013. For more information, please visit our website or contact your local sales representatives.
