MI/O Extension: New Extensible Platform for Efficient Development
Advantech's innovative MI/O Extension form factor integrated multiple I/O to assist system integrators to provide optimized solutions in a more cost-effective way. With this new design, MI/O Extension SBCs incorporate the MIOe unified extended interface connector that integrates: DisplayPort, 4 PCIe x1, LPC, SMBus, USB 2.0/USB 3.0, audio line-out and power. Customers receive the best current I/O choices to meet vertical application development as well as helping them retain their specialist domain knowhow. The MI/O Extension spec also unified screw mounting holes to make it easier for system maintainance and platform upgrades, concentrated thermal design on the top-side via a heat sink/spreader to prevent thermal problems, and less cabling to reduce assembly efforts. MIO-5270 takes advantage of MI/O Extension by saving up to 20% of system space as well as providing flexibility for future I/O expansion and upgrades.
Great Graphic Performance & Multiple Display Type Solution
MIO-5270 is powered by AMD G-Series single core/ dual core processor with A50M FCH, DDR3 up to 4 GB. It supports an advanced graphic engine with DirectX 11, 2D/3D acceleration and hardware decoding (UVD 3):H.264, VC-1 & MPEG2. MIO-5270 features 24/48-bit LVDS, HDMI and VGA display capability. The 48-bit LVDS supports panels up to 2560 x 1600 @ 60 Hz on T56N, and up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz on T40R/ T40E/ T44R. HDMI supports up to 1920 x 1080p pixel resolution and VGA is also supported for embedded applications.
Low Power & Rugged Design
Although MIO-5270 supports DirectX11 graphic engine it still delivers low-power consumption, the TDP on MIO-5270 is 10.5~23 Watts. To be more reliable and endure extreme environments, Advantech's MIO-5270 is a rugged design with specially selected components, such as 100% solid capacitors with better MTBF and better stability compared with electrolytic capacitors. It has a wide temperature design and a TG-150 PCB type that allows the PCB to endure higher temperatures.
iManager & SUSIAccess: Facilitating Applications with Embedded Software
MI/O Extension SBC MIO-5270 comes with value-added software services like iManager & SUSIAccess. iManager is an intelligent self-management cross platform tool that monitors system status for problems and reacts to take action if something is abnormal. iManager offers a boot up guarantee in critical low temperature environments so systems can automatically recover when voltages dip. iManager makes the whole system more reliable and more intelligent. In addition, MIO-5270 supports Advantech's own SUSIAccess which provides easy remote management so users can easily monitor, configure, and control a large number of terminals and make maintenance and system recovery simpler.
