All essential functions are concentrated in a device that’s designed to be as small as possible without compromising on security – a combination that differentiates the IRF1000 series from ADS-TEC from its competitors. The new series rounds off the already proven ADS-TEC firewall range by adding an entry-level model. The new, significantly smaller models are particularly suitable for a wide range of applications in mechanical and plant engineering and stand out thanks to their high- quality (including a robust high-end housing), outstanding security concept and sensational value for money. Especially when using compact network structures, it is important to cover all the essential core functions without compromising on data security. That’s why, just like any other ADS-TEC firewall, the new series of small-scale devices features the most secure hardware-based smartcard security concept currently on the market, which also allows flexible access rights. This state-of-the-art system provides the best possible protection against internal and external attacks. The devices can be integrated into the DIN rail, even in the tightest of spaces, and offer a broad range of customers everything they need to ensure their communications in the IIoT are as secure as possible. The devices of the IRF1000 series are equipped with four 100 Mbps ports.
Like all previous IRF devices, the new series is designed to be perfectly compatible with the ADS-TEC IIoT Service Platform Big-LinX, making pushing data to Big-LinX as easy as possible (it can also be pushed to a third-party Cloud using MQTT). However, the devices are flexible and can easily be integrated into their own OpenVPN infrastructure or tunnelled using existing proxy servers via port 443. Above that the IRF1000 is easy and intuitive to use. This flexible VPN support forms the base for a range of individual solutions.
There are two basic models available, with and without LTE. The model with LTE is available in two different specifications. The IRF1401 comes without LTE, while the LTE-equipped IRF1421 is available in two different versions for the European and the EMEA/Americas regions. Wireless Internet access is available using optional 4G/LTE mobile signal support.
The Digital IN allows a key switch to be connected, which can be used to disable access manually and/or establish the VPN connection.
If you would like to test the IRF1401 free of charge for 60 days, with no obligation to buy, you can request a test kit via the ADS-TEC website. After the trial period, you can buy the test device at a competitive price. One major advantage of the free trial is during the test period the customers can sign up to Big-LinX and test the IIoT Service Platform alongside the IRF1401 for six months as well for free.
Thanks to its comprehensive R&D expertise, including its own in-house production facilities, ADS-TEC can easily design customised devices based on the new series, meaning we can also create individual solutions for specialist applications.
