Als Besonderheit bietet das 8-kanalige Gerät im 19" Rackformat auf 1 HE maximal 16 Eingangsanschlüsse - die MERGE-Funktion macht's möglich. Sie schaltet den Parallelausgang eines Kanals als zusätzlichen Eingang und fügt beide Signale zu einer Monosumme zusammen. Mit zwei PAD-Tastern lassen sich 10, 20 oder 30 dB Dämpfung wählen, Ground Lift-Schalter trennen die Erdverbindung und verhindern so Masseschleifen.
Die XLR-Ausgänge der PAN 16 sind durch hochwertige Übertrager galvanisch getrennt und symmetriert. Ihre Impedanz liegt bei 600 Ohm, der Frequenzgang reicht von 10 bis 40.000 Hz. Sie sind mit 8 weiteren Parallelausgängen im 6,35 mm Klinkenformat auf der Rückseite des Geräts angeordnet, das sich in einem robusten Gehäuse aus pulverbeschichtetem Stahlblech präsentiert.
