With more than 1,600 square feet of exhibition space, Across Systems GmbH (hall 1, booth 115) will again be the largest exhibitor at the tekom Annual Conference in Wiesbaden, Germany, Nov. 4-6, 2009. With its technology partners and language service providers, the manufacturer of corporate translation management solutions will show how tightly technical editing, information management, and multilingualism are interwoven. Thanks to its variable interface architecture, the Across Language Server allows the establishment of a central platform for all corporate language resources and translation processes combined with any level of integration to interacting solutions. This enables seamless processes from the composition of a text to high-quality translation, resulting in more transparency and substantial time and cost savings in the field of multilingual product and enterprise communication.

The tekom Annual Conference is the world's most important industry event for technical communication. It combines the fields of technical documentation, information and knowledge management, language technology, and translation. By focusing on the subject of "convergence" at this year's exhibition, Across will stress how closely these areas are interlinked.

crossAuthor Linguistic Integrates Author Support
One aspect is the unification of the processes for creating product and enterprise communication on the one hand and their translation to other languages on the other. In this context, Across will present its new Across v5 product generation at the Annual Conference; currently, this is the only solution in the market that integrates full author support. In addition to showing the author the correct terminology and corresponding text segments, it also offers rule-based linguistic quality management. This ensures translation-oriented authoring, which ultimately results in a higher translation quality and minimized translation costs.

Across Synergizes with Numerous Partners
The unification of the various segments in technical communication will also be evident in the large Across Partner Area, where numerous language service providers and technology partners will feature their solutions that implement seamless processes via the open interfaces of Across, such as the seamless exchange and synchronization of content between content management systems and the Across translation environment. The range of partners includes DHW - ASIM division, E4NET, EnssnerZeitgeist, Eule, Jabro, Janus, Lots of Dots, Netzwerkstatt, Sprachenwelt, Transline, and Wohanka & Kollegen. Several other Across partners will participate with their own booths.

At this year's tekom Annual Conference, Across will feature a number of user reports and specialized lectures. Across will also participate in the technology podiums, which tekom offers for the first time this year, with two presentations.

Across v5 Introduces Business Intelligence
"Language Technology meets Business Intelligence" is the motto under which Across Systems offers its new v5 product generation. With various new modules and functionalities, Across shows how business intelligence subjects are now applied in language technology. This includes the provision of informative indicators, the automation of processes, and the smart use of language resources with text mining methods.

"More than any other system manufacturer, Across uses an integrated approach. We position our solution as a platform for all corporate language resources and translation processes," says Niko Henschen, CEO of Across. "The topics of the tekom Annual Conference reflect the trend toward convergence of authoring and translation management. Therefore, we consider it as one of the most important events for multilingual product and enterprise communication."
