Konzerne wie Siemens, VW oder die Deutsche Bank sind die Avantgarde des Sabbatical-Modells. Im öffentlichen Dienst ist die vorübergehende Freistellung sogar gesetzlich verankert. Damit haben Auszeit-Programme die 5-Prozent-Hürde in der deutschen Unternehmenslandschaft geschafft. In der mittelständischen Wirtschaft sind Sabbaticals jedoch immer noch eine seltene Ausnahme.
Die Management- und IT-Beratung Acando hat zum 1.4.2016 als eines der wenigen deutschen Unternehmen mit weniger als 500 Beschäftigten eine Sabbatical-Vereinbarung festgelegt. Diese ermöglicht es Mitarbeitern, bis zu sechs Monate aus dem Arbeitsalltag auszusteigen, um danach neue Kraft und Impulse in das Unternehmen zu bringen.
„Mit unserem Sabbatical-Modell entsprechen wir den Anforderungen an eine moderne Arbeitswelt“, sagt Daniel Winkler, Mitglied der Geschäftsführung bei Acando, und erklärt: „Es ist ein weit verbreiteter Irrglaube, dass der Verwaltungsaufwand für kleinere und mittlere Firmen nicht lohnt. Im Gegenteil, ich glaube, dass von dem Angebot sowohl Mitarbeiter als auch Arbeitgeber profitieren.“
