Am ersten Konferenztag startet die "Tool Time": Drei Hersteller stellen in einem Vortrag ihre Werkzeuglösungen für das Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) vor. Schwerpunkte sind Konzepte, Rahmenbedingungen und die Anwendung. Die Teilnehmer haben die Wahl, entweder IBM Jazz, den Microsoft Team Foundation Server oder das Serena Team Center im Detail kennen zu lernen. Während der beiden Konferenztage besteht die Gelegenheit, Ausstellerstände der Hersteller zu besuchen. Höhepunkt und Abschluss der SEE2009 bildet der "Tool Shootout". Anders als in der "Tool Time" treten hier Hersteller gegeneinander an. Am Tool Shootout teilnehmen werden sowohl kommerzielle Werkzeughersteller als auch Anbieter von Open-Source-Lösungen.
Für Teilnehmer aus Management, den Prozessabteilungen und Projekten hat die SEE2009 36 Fachvorträge, 8 Workshops und Tutorials sowie Keynotes vom "Bundes-CIO" Doktor Hans Bernhard Beus und Professor Ernst Denert im Programm.
