Besonderer Vorteil dieser Steckverbinder, die sich in ihrer vierpoligen Variante bereits in unzähligen Einsatzfeldern bewährt haben, ist ihre unkomplizierte und kostengünstige Verarbeitungsmöglichkeit mit Hilfe einer einfachen Zange. Spezialwerkzeug ist dafür nicht erforderlich.
Auch die neue, zweipolige Variante des Link Connectors verfügt über die Schneidklemmtechnik von 3M, dank derer sich diese Steckverbinder sehr viel schneller verarbeiten lassen als herkömmliche Stecker mit Schraub- oder Crimp-Anschlüssen. Eine spezielle Kabelvorbereitung etwa in Form einer Abisolierung ist bei Nutzung dieser Technik nicht mehr notwendig ist. Der neue, zweipolige Link Connector steht in drei Standardversionen für Querschnitte von 0,30 und 0,50 mm2 und bei entsprechendem Bedarf in fünf weiteren Ausführungen bis 0,75 mm2 zur Verfügung.
