(pressebox) (Aachen/Heidenheim, Germany, 2017-03-08) Aspera’s client Voith – a globally active technology group – was awarded 3^rd place at the 2017 SAMS Awards for the group-wide introduction of a new software metering process. Voith won votes for its “come twogether SmartTrack & Voith IT Online Store” project in the “Tool / Software” category. The winners were announced on Monday in Berlin for the first time via a live voting process.

This is the sixth time the we.CONECT group has awarded the SAMS Award for outstanding software asset & license management strategies. Voith convinced over 200 SAM specialists with their implementation of a software asset management (SAM) solution in a complex technical environment in only four months.

“We automated the process of releasing unused licenses and making them available via the Voith IT Online Store – while ensuring compliance and adherence to license regulations at all times,” explained Regina Karing, Corporate License Management, who is responsible for the project implementation.
