Die Hoffmann Mineral GmbH ist ein mittelständisches Unternehmen aus Neuburg an der Donau. Das Familienunternehmen wurde 1903 von Franz Hoffmann gegründet und wird derzeit von Manfred Hoffmann in der vierten Generation geführt. Es baut als einziges Unternehmen die Neuburger Kieselerde ab und kümmert sich um deren weltweite Vermarktung sowie den Vertrieb. Die klassische Neuburger Kieselerde ist ein natürlich entstandenes Gemisch aus korpuskularer Neuburger Kieselsäure und lamellarem Kaolinit: ein loses Haufwerk, das durch physikalische Methoden nicht zu trennen ist. Der Kieselsäureanteil weist durch seine natürliche Entstehung eine runde Kornform auf und besteht aus ca. 200 nm großen, aggregierten Primärartikeln. Durch diese einmalige Struktur ergeben sich die relativ hohe spezifische Oberfläche und Ölzahl, woraus neben rheologischer Aktivität auch gute anwendungstechnische Eigenschaften resultieren. Sie wird unter den Handelsnamen SILLITIN, AKTISIL, SILLIKOLLOID, SILFIT und AKTIFIT als funktioneller Füllstoff vertrieben. Die Neuburger Kieselerde findet Einsatz in den verschiedensten Bereichen wie zum Beispiel in Farben und Lacken oder in Elastomeranwendungen. Durch die beiden weiteren Geschäftsfelder Lohnfertigung und Tailored Filler Solutions, bietet die Firma ein breites Leistungsspektrum im Bereich funktionelle Füllstoffe.
