The rediscovery of nuclear energy

(PresseBox) (Herisau, )
Nuclear energy has one of the lowest carbon footprints of any power source and the lowest material and land consumption over its entire life cycle.

The base load supply of nuclear energy is reliable, unlike wind and solar energy, and it achieves a higher return. Nuclear energy is dominated by the USA. China is busy building new reactors, with 15 new plants planned. Although wind and solar energy are not finite resources, the construction of battery storage facilities, wind turbines, and solar panels requires large quantities of raw materials and rare earths. Wind farms and solar panels need to be replaced after 20 to 30 years, while nuclear power plants can remain in service for 30 to 100 years.

A 1,000 MW nuclear power plant requires around 1.3 square miles to produce the same amount of power as solar energy, which requires 45 to 75 square miles. A 1,000 MW wind farm requires as much as 260 to 360 square miles. Waste disposal at nuclear power plants is still challenging, but progress is being made in this area. In any case, public acceptance of nuclear power plants has increased significantly. In a 2025 survey, around 72 percent were in favor of nuclear energy. In 1983, this figure was only 49 percent.

About 58 percent of global nuclear energy production today takes place in the US, France, and China. The rest of the world is working to catch up. The primary fuel is uranium, with two-thirds coming from Kazakhstan, Canada, and Australia. Growing global demand for electricity is driving demand for uranium. An imbalance in the uranium market is predicted until the 2030s, as demand for uranium rises while supply declines, which is good news for companies involved in uranium.

Premier American Uranium - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/premier-american-uranium-inc/ - has uranium projects in five excellent regions in the US. With its extensive land holdings, the company is ideally positioned to strengthen energy security in the US.

Uranium Royalty - https://www.commodity-tv.com/ondemand/companies/profil/uranium-royalty-corp/ - is unique for investors seeking diversification, as it is the only royalty company in the uranium industry. The company recently added a royalty on two uranium projects in Saskatchewan to its portfolio.
