Mit dem VES-1616FE-53A und dem VES-1624FT-55A bringt ZyXEL gleich zwei neue VDSL Switches auf den Markt, welche die High-Speed Übertragung von hohen Bandbreiten über herkömmliche Telefonverkabelungen sicherstellen. Zielanwendung der beiden ZyXEL Switches, die sich lediglich im Gehäuse-Format und in der Portzahl unterscheiden, ist die Vernetzung über bestehende Telefonverkabelungen von z. B. Hotelzimmern und Krankenhauszimmern, wo sonst aufwendige und kostenintensive Ethernet-Verkabelungen nötig gewesen wären. Für Internet Service Provider eignen sich die VDSL2 Switches für FTTB (Fiber To The Building) Anwendungen, um mit VDSL2, der fortschrittlichsten Form von DSL, dem wachsenden Bedarf an Multimedia-Anwendungen bei ihren Kunden gerecht zu werden.
