Ypsomed is pleased to announce its partnership with the International Diabetes Federation (IDF). Through this cooperation Ypsomed intends to support IDF and to contribute to the fight against diabetes, primarily with the goal of improved diabetes treatment, prevention and understanding.

IDF is a worldwide organisation of around 200 national diabetes organisations in around 160 countries, thus repre- senting the interests of diabetics everywhere. In 2006 the IDF network was instrumental in drafting a UN resolution to make the UN member states more aware of the extent and consequences of diabetes, and it urged them to introduce national measures for prevention and treatment of diabetes. IDF organises countless activities worldwide in the fight against diabetes, and it is the sponsor of World Diabetes Day on the 14th of November of each year.

Ypsomed's commitment is expressed in the words of Simon Michel, member of the Board of Management of the Yp- somed Group: "Diabetes is spreading worldwide at epidemic growth rates. In Europe alone more than 55 million peo- ple now suffer from diabetes, with no end to the growth in sight. For this reason we are pleased to be a partner in this international network and to support IDF in its mission. With our products we intend to contribute to improved diabetes treatment and to improve the quality of life substantially for diabetics."
