PCI Express 3.0 Card Edge Connectors from W+P

High Speed Data Transmission up to 8 000 MB/s

Bünde, (PresseBox) - W+P launches new PCI Express Connector series (124 and 1240) to transmit high data rates up to 8 000 MB/s. The full duplex card edge connectors support the PCI Express 3.0 standard, they are entirely compatible to PCI drivers and applications.

The new series implement the PCI Express architecture in Industrial and Desktop PCs, Workstations and Servers, they enable the connection of peripherical equipment with data of the main processor.

Versions with 1 to 32 serial lanes are available in the configurations x1 (36 contacts), x4 (64), x8 (98) and x16 (164). Every Lane supports 250 MB/s in both direction, the combining of several lanes increases the data transmission rate up to 8 000 MB/s. Hotplugging is guaranteed, expansion cards can be inserted during ongoing operations.

W+P offers solder type and SMT type connectors. A PCB thickness of 1.6 to 2.4 mm is recommended, for the expansion cards a thickness of 1.6 mm. The contacts are constructed in four rows in a 1.0 mm pitch, the contact material consists of selectively gold plated copper alloy, the insulator consists of ther-moplastic rated UL94 V-0. The solderability is guaranteed according to IEC 60512-12A, the operating temperature ranges from -55 bis + 105°C.
