Under the theme "Brand & Community Publishing" WoodWing will present innovative cross-media publishing solutions and strategies enabling publishers to manage their content, their brands and the respective communities
Publishers facing the challenge to leverage their brands efficiently in the new world of publishing should visit WoodWing at booth A220 at the IFRA Expo taking place from October 12th-15th 2009 in Vienna, Austria. Under the theme "Brand & Community Pub-lishing" WoodWing will present a broad range of solutions and strategies enabling publishers all size to manage their content, their brands and the respective communities addressing all channels. For more information on IFRA Expo please visit www.ifraexpo.com.
Erik Schut, President of WoodWing Software, explains: "By modern technologies everybody has the power to publish. That is the reason why professional publishers now face the devaluation of information. Many of them are afraid of the future. But by implementing a modern multi-channel publishing solution, the situation could also turn out into a major chance by delivering information of proven journalistic quality and by performing with virtuosity in the new world of cross-media publishing. In that new world maintaining the publication brand is a mission critical task." Schut is confident: "In the end quality catches on - we all saw that in so many different markets."
To leverage a brand established as a print publication its not longer enough to run just a website under the same brand. Today it is essential to address all different channels like e-mail, SMS and mobile plus the full range of social media platforms like Twitter, Flickr, YouTube and Facebook. Erik Schut: "When it comes to manage and maintain a community of a publication successful and sustainable, the role of social media cannot be underestimated. Publishers do need a system integrating social media seamlessly in the multi channel publishing environment. Our ability to natively support these new channels is unique."
The IFRA Expo in Vienna is a good opportunity to meet the executives and publishing experts of WoodWing and to get the complete picture how the WoodWing solutions address the challenges the publishing industry has to cope with.
Enterprise 6.5 - the WoodWing Cross Media Content Publishing Platform
Enterprise is the three-tier content management system that connects to Adobe's Creative Suite plus a variety of Web CMSes and third party applications. The system allows to address all relevant channels - print and Web, SMS, mobile and e-mail, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.
Content Station - the Cross Media Control Center
One of the products WoodWing will demonstrate live in Vienna is Content Station, which was designed to offer more flexibility to the publishing process. It allows authors, editors and managers to plan their content and select, write and edit documents and files as they go through the workflow. Whether the output is print, the Web or mobile - users can publish to any channel simply by ticking a check box.
Duty and Chance in Online Publishing - Follow the reader
In order to attract the community it is crucial to know what works and what doesn't from an editorial point of view. In the online world publishers can monitor very precisely what attracts readers. To make this information accessible to journalists and editors WoodWing has developed a so-called ‘Follow the reader' feature that shows directly from within Content Station which stories are being read/rated the best. This allows every single journalist to measure the acceptance of articles and to improve this.
New Dimensions for Mobile Branding
With the success of the iPhone mobile news reached an all new level - for the first time publishers can leverage their branding also on a mobile device. WoodWing has developed its Smart News iPhone application to bring every publishers it's own branded iPhone application. For publishers of all sizes this is an easy and cost-effective way to publish their content to the iPhone.
