The Wittmann group - with innovative solutions at the Plast Eurasia

WITTMANN BATTENFELD at the Plast Eurasia in Istanbul

Kottingbrunn, (PresseBox) - At the Plast Eurasia, the international trade fair for the plastics industry held in Istanbul from 27 to 30 October, the WITTMANN group will present innovative injection molding technology together with automation and peripheral equipment to trade visitors in hall 2, booth 228.

WITTMANN BATTENFELD's activities are centered around extremely cost- and energy-efficient injection molding machinery and processes which meet the most stringent demands in terms of high quality. Where energy efficiency is concerned, the all-electric EcoPower ranks at the top of the company's impressive "energy-saving fleet". Additional distinctive features apart from energy efficiency are high precision and cleanness.

The EcoPower comes with a compact injection unit and an extremely accurate clamping unit with a highly efficient direct drive. The braking energy of the drives, normally returned to the power supply network by an elaborate process, is completely utilized by the EcoPower within the machine. This makes these machines extremely energy-efficient.

With this machine, special emphasis has been placed on the footprint and compact integration. The WITTMANN tempering devices can be integrated directly in the machine frame, which means a considerable reduction of space requirements and occupancy costs.

An additional user-friendly innovation by WITTMANN BATTENFELD is the facility for including a servo-hydraulic system for the ejector, core pull and nozzle contact pressure build-up as standard. This is a very special advantage for customers operating molds with hydraulic core pulls.

At the Plast Eurasia in Istanbul an EcoPower 240 will be on display, manufacturing salad servers with a two-cavity mold.

WITTMANN automation and peripheral equipment

In addition, WITTMANN is exhibiting robots and peripheral equipment as stand-alone solutions.

In the field of automation, a W702 sprue removal device and the servo robot models W818, W821 UHS and W833 will be on display. The new robot model W818 should receive special attention. Mechanically, it is based on the successful predecessor model W711, but the design of this latest version features a maximum handling load of 6 kg and a possible maximum vertical stroke of 1,200 mm. The appliance is equipped with three powerful servo motors and absolute encoders for all linear axes as standard. Optional servo-driven rotational axes allow for a great variety of new functions.

The W821 robot model will be shown in its UHS (= Ultra High Speed) version, featuring an impressive maximum speed and simultaneously an extremely robust mechanical concept. Thanks to vibrationless movements, acceleration and deceleration of the individual axes, the parts to be removed can be gripped virtually without any time lag. In combination with the SmartRemoval function of the R8 robot control system, this allows minimal gripping times for removing the parts from the mold. The W821 UHS robot has been laid out for high-speed applications with typical removal intervals of 1 sec at the most and maximum handling loads of up to 3 kg.

Three dryers of the DRYMAX series will also be on display, among them a DRYMAX Aton F120-300-M. The DRYMAX Aton is a completely new drying wheel dryer. What makes the DRYMAX Aton so attractive is its combination of a constant dew point with high energy efficiency and extremely low maintenance costs. These benefits have become possible by using an innovative drying wheel, consisting of numerous chambers which are loosely filled with ball desiccants. This filling concept favors high energy utilization and allows for low-cost maintenance of the wheel - both characteristics which cannot be realized with a conventional honeycomb wheel. Additional exhibits are a DRYMAX E30-70 with a drying performance of up to 15kg/h, depending on the material, and an optimal price/performance ratio, as well as the DRYMAX E180, the smallest model from Wittmann's extensive range of battery dryers.

From its series of material loaders, WITTMANN will be presenting a FEEDMAX Primus and 3 devices of the new FEEDMAX B series at the Plast Eurasia. The new FEEDMAX B material separators for central conveying are particularly easy to handle and ideally suited for all fields of application. All FEEDMAX B material separators consist entirely of stainless steel and are equipped with pneumatically actuated vacuum valves, which are well-known for their reliability, and a slanted material cylinder.

The temperature controllers on display will include devices from the series TEMPRO Basic C, TEMPRO Direct and TEMPRO plus D. TEMPRO temperature controllers offer the highest standard in temperature stability together with optimized process management, and also provide clear and complete visualization of the entire process, thus enabling unrestricted process control. With the introduction of the new TEMPRO plus D series of appliances, a generously dimensioned 5.7" LCD color screen provides the visualization. Various buttons on the display can be configured with unlimited freedom in order to retrieve the required data exactly as desired in each individual case.

The range of exhibits at the Plast Eurasia will be rounded off by MAS 1 and JUNIOR 3 granulators, two GRAVIMAX 14V gravimetric dosing systems, a COOLMAX C50 chiller, as well as various flow controllers.
