Wincor Nixdorf signs reverse vending systems frame agreement with top Swedish retailer

(PresseBox) (Paderborn, ) Wincor Nixdorf has signed a frame agreement with ICA, Sweden's largest retailer, to supply reverse vending systems to ICA stores in Sweden. Under the agreement, the whole range of Wincor Nixdorf reverse vending systems, which are designed to accept returns of one way and refillable containers, including cans and PET bottles, will be supplied and installed. The contract also covers essential background equipment such as compactors and the provision of a range of services including the installation, support and monitoring of all the equipment supplied. The agreement is a milestone for Wincor Nixdorf in its efforts to expand into the Scandinavian retail market with reverse vending systems. Therefore Wincor Nixdorf with its broad portfolio for automating processes is in a good position to benefit from further dynamic growth in this region.

Global demand for automated reverse vending solutions at retail outlets continues to rise. Wincor Nixdorf's Revendo systems are fully tried and tested, can be deployed internationally and make a significant contribution to process optimization and cost reduction. The principal benefits of reverse vending systems lie in their capacity to reduce the need for manual work and to cut down on theft and waste. They are also broadly welcomed by retail customers, many of whom prefer them, especially on account of the shorter waiting times involved.

Wincor Nixdorf's reverse vending systems are integrated into the stores' existing IT infrastructure via a standardized, open and freely available software interface. This makes it possible to connect it to just about any checkout system and to post returns and credit deposits directly. The interface also prepares retailers for future applications such as centralized product range control. Another cost-saving feature of Wincor Nixdorf's Revendo systems is the extensive online servicing support available. Many requests can be resolved online, saving time and the expense of on-site technical support.
