The "red dot" design award, one of the internationally most highlyregarded prizes for outstanding product design since its founding in 1955, has been conferred on two systems from the CINEO product family that Wincor Nixdorf introduced just a few weeks ago. The awards went to a transaction terminal and a cash dispenser from the new generation of systems. The members of the internationally staffed jury of North Rhine-Westphalia's Design Center chose these Wincor Nixdorf products from a total of 4252 entries from 1600 countries for their outstanding combination of functionality and design.

The staff of Wincor Nixdorf's design department will accept the award in early July. Wincor Nixdorf has received numerous distinctions in previous years for the design of its automated teller machines, cash recycling systems, and selfservice terminals.

The company presented the CINEO system family for the first time at the end of January. In addition to its awardwinning design, the cash systems offer users completely new options for cash handling. The core element is an innovative banknote storage concept. For the first time ever, the intelligent endtoend cassettes enable cash to be exchanged directly between different cash points in the branch (automated teller machines, cash recycling systems and automated teller safes) and thus kept in the cash cycle.

Since both the transaction terminals and the cash systems have identical design elements and all the systems have a uniform style, it is possible to set up selfservice zones with a unified look and feel. Other benefits of the new CINEO product family include improved security thanks to new integrated security features, intuitive operation, faster transaction processing and the latest banknote recognition technology. CINEO also sets new standards in serviceability. The systems automatically provide a whole host of operating information, thus enabling proactive system management and the greatest possible availability.
